This policy is provided by Beige Matter. Effective . PracticeLane is intended for learner drivers of appropriate permit or practice-driving age and the parents, guardians and other qualified supervising adults helping them practice. It is not intended for young children and does not determine legal driving eligibility.
The guidance below describes PracticeLane’s app features. The Android app is not yet publicly available. Account, cloud and deletion processing are not active for this public website launch. You can contact support with questions.
On your device
Your selected driving records are saved on your device. An account is optional.
Shared by choice
You choose whether to share saved drives through your account, and separately whether to share later edits.
Saved by you
Reports and backups go to the destination you choose.
This website.
The site provides public product information. It has no account sign-in, driving-data viewer, contact form, advertising, analytics or session replay (tools that measure visits or replay browsing activity), or tracking cookies. Fonts and images are served with the website, without third-party embeds.
The service that hosts this website receives page requests and may process technical information such as IP addresses and records of those requests. Following an external link takes you to that provider’s site and privacy practices.
What stays on your device.
Basic drive logging works without an account. Learner names, optional supervisor details, drive times, routes, observations, notes, corrections, and settings are stored on the device. Manual entries have no recorded GPS route. These features work without mobile data.
Starting a recorded drive uses location for the route, distance, approximate speed, and day/night context. Recording can continue in the background or with the screen off. Pause stops location collection; ending the drive ends recording. The app does not let someone watch a learner’s location remotely.
An optional permit start date stays on your device and in backup files you create. Your selected state can be included when the app supports sharing learner details. Opening a state page sends that page’s address to this website, without information identifying the learner, permit dates, or driving history.
What you can choose to share online.
Optional Google sign-in uses Google and Firebase Authentication to identify your PracticeLane account, including its email address, account ID and returned profile information. Signing in alone does not upload local history. Google Cloud Firestore stores the supported records you choose to synchronize. If you turn on sync—the option for sharing saved drives through your account—supported records can be shared with compatible devices using that same account. It can include routes, notes, learner and supervisor information, and other drive details.
Records saved only on your device and records in different accounts stay separate. Signing in or choosing an account does not automatically combine them or give another Google account access.
Sharing later edits is a separate choice. It can include edits the app supports, the original recorded information, and learner details. If edits made on different devices disagree, the app may ask you to choose. Turning sharing off or signing out does not delete information already shared, and a request already sent may still finish.
Where street maps are enabled, Google Maps supplies the map background and receives map requests even when history sync is off. Location recording and saved route evidence are separate from that map background. Google’s mapping services can process details about your device and its requests, IP addresses (internet addresses), troubleshooting information, identifying codes, and actions you take on the map. See Google Maps data disclosures and disclosures for the Google services used by account features.
PracticeLane’s account and cloud connections use HTTPS or the Firebase SDK’s encrypted transport. This is not end-to-end encryption: the service operator can access supported cloud records. Export destinations have their own privacy practices.
Files you save are separate copies.
Android saves or shares files where you choose. Backup files use JSON, a format the app can read to restore records, and may include detailed routes, notes, and saved edits. PDF reports are documents for reading selected details. Diagnostic exports are separate troubleshooting files and may include identifiers and technical details. Review files before sharing them.
Android does not automatically back up this app. Use Back up selected history to save a file you can use to restore your records. Saving or deleting a record online does not take back a file you emailed or remove a copy you saved with another service.
Erasing records on this device affects the selected history here. Deleting a synced drive or removing an account removes different information. Account removal covers supported PracticeLane records stored online, the app’s sign-in record, and related copies on the device you used to request removal. It does not delete your Google account. Copies on offline devices and files saved elsewhere need separate handling.
Choose what you want to remove ↗Contact and how long information stays.
Local records stay on your device until you remove them. Optional cloud history stays until you delete it through a supported drive or account deletion path. Signing out does not remove cloud data.
Account deletion removes supported cloud history and the PracticeLane/Firebase sign-in identity. It does not delete your Google account. Limited account-removal confirmation records remain to provide completion status and prevent stale copies from restoring removed history; they are not automatically purged. Support verification and authorization records and service logs are separate from driving history.
When account services become available, the external deletion process uses a one-time PracticeLane verification code sent to the account’s recorded email. The code is usable until consumed or expired, approximately 15 minutes. The plaintext verification token is not retained in backend storage. After verification and explicit authorization, PracticeLane processes the request and support confirms completion. Support messages are handled by the email service used for correspondence. Do not send passwords or Google recovery codes.
For app help or questions about deletion, email support@practicelaneapp.com. For privacy questions, email privacy@practicelaneapp.com. PracticeLane support is owner-operated. This website uses email links, not a submission form.
Our operational target is to retain abandoned support correspondence and request material for approximately 30 days, and minimal deletion-completion evidence for approximately 90 days where it can safely be removed. These are operational targets, not automatic erasure deadlines. Technical closure markers remain as needed to prevent duplicates, replay or stale copies from restoring removed history, until a separately reviewed safe retirement policy exists.
Platform and required logs follow the provider’s actual retention settings. Some required Google logs remain materially longer than 30 days; we do not promise that all logs are removed after 30 days. You can contact us about records that remain after deletion. Files you export and copies held by other people or services are outside PracticeLane’s cloud deletion process.
